Leadership
This month our focus is on Leadership!
Everything rises and falls on LEADERSHIP ~ John Maxwell
Leadership and respect of leadership is earned on difficult ground. Everyone in a leadership position knows there will be challenges every day and leaders know how to show up during those challenging times. One of the values that has come from the pandemic is that it gives us all a dose of humility. We might not have all the answers, but we have FAITH we will find the answers. We have the confidence to tell our teams that we are going to move in a direction that will lead us to higher ground. A great leader is found in their ability to empower others to go to the next level of success!
Leadership is not a noun it is a verb and the first person we should lead is ourselves. It was from John Maxwell that I learned the key to leadership is learning how to manage our priorities. He said activity is not an accomplishment; we have to learn how to work smart. People often talk about "time management," but we don’t manage our time, there are 24 hours in everyone’s day. What we do with our time is how we really excel. The key is to learn how to prioritize our time by asking yourself the 3 - R’s Questions, first, what is required of me? What is it that no one else on the team or in the organization can do except me? This is where we have to start and figure out what is our long-range goal that no one else can do to accomplish the mission of the organization. Second, what gives me the greatest return? This is where we bring in the clients, and our business begins to flourish, and we achieve our goals and make our profits. It is our sweet spot where we will spend most of our time, energy, and effort. Third, what is rewarding to me? What is it that when we do it, it is not work, we just love doing it? Once we find out what is fulfilling to us well, we don’t even have a job anymore!
Authenticity and genuineness are at the core of true leadership and makes a leader more effective over the long run. Leadership is wanting to help others by adding value to truly lift other people up. A servant's heart is huge when it comes to leadership!
How can we serve you and your team?
Kind regards,
Lisa
