Volunteer and Tour Guide at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital:
Shortly after finishing college Lisa started volunteering at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Her Lebanese-immigrant grandparents met with Danny Thomas in Jackson, MS in the early 50’s as he toured the country speaking to Lebanese American descendants about his dream of building a hospital for children with catastrophic illnesses. Because of that meeting, her family began to help fundraise for the hospital years before the doors opened.
Doggy Daze Program:
One of Lisa’s favorite volunteer activities is the Doggy Daze Program with her beloved dog Bailey Jude David, a fun-loving Bichon Frise! A cheerful attitude is the hallmark of this gentle mannered breed. Lisa adopted Bailey at 8 weeks old and started training him for therapy work when he was only 6 months old. Bailey has a very sweet disposition and temperament and from the moment Lisa brought him home she knew he would make a great therapy dog!
ALSAC Leadership Board:
ALSAC (American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities) is the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Founded in the fall of 1957 by Lebanese Americans, it united to support Danny Thomas’ dream “that no child shall die in the dawn of life.”
St. Jude Leadership Society:
The St. Jude Leadership Society is a unique philanthropic program for high school students to develop as leaders and support the work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Inspired by the vision of its founder Danny Thomas and the ALSAC preamble, St. Jude Leadership Society (SJLS) is a distinguished membership of high-performing high school students who share a passion for leadership, service, and community. Lisa has been the Lead Volunteer on the SJLS program since its conception. SJLS gives members an opportunity to give back through service and leadership by promoting and supporting the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Finding cures. Saving children.

Birthright of Memphis Board of Directors:
For over 25 years Lisa has served on the Board of Directors at Birthright of Memphis, helping women in crisis pregnancies. Through supporting its mission “it is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth, and the right of every child to be born.” Lisa offers hope, love, support, resources, and a guiding hand to women during a difficult time.
For many years Lisa chaired the Birthright Sunday Committee speaking at many churches throughout the Memphis community and training volunteers to speak on behalf of the Birthright’s mission.
Lisa received the Heart and Soul award in 2013 for long-term and faithful service to Birthright's mission.
